Mikayla Mabie begins her first season in the coaching ranks as she joins the CSUMB staff as a student-assistant coach for the 2023-24 season. Mabie was a standout player for Coach Hopkins-Chery at UC Merced and then in 2022-23 for the Otters.

2023 – Cal State Monterey Bay
  • All-CCAA Honorable Mention selection. 
  • Played in all 27 games and made 26 starts.
  • Averaged the most minutes on the team with 31.6 per contest.
  • Averaged 9.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
  • Led the team with 112 assists, averaging 4.1 per outing.
  • The 112 assists ranked third in the CCAA and were the second most ever in the CSUMB single season annals.
  • Paced the team with 37 steals.
  • Scored in double figures 12 times.
  • Handed out 10 or more assists three times.
  • Poured in a season-high 20 points on the road against Stanislaus (2/16).
  • Handed out a season-high 11 assists against Stanislaus (1/21).
2022 – UC Merced
  • Was an honorable mention All–American.
  • Named to the All–Cal-Pac first team.
  • Also named to the Cal-Pac All–Defensive team.
  • Set the UCM record by averaging 4.8 assists per game, good for No. 18 nationally in NAIA play.
  • Finished third on the team at 9.6 points per game.
  • Scored in double figures nine times, including four of the last six games.
  • Season–highs 20 points and 13 assists came in a win over Pacific Union (Feb. 15).
  • Also had a double­–double with 13 points and 12 assists in a win over the Univ. of Antelope Valley (Jan. 17).
  • Season–high nine rebounds came in a win over Saint Katherine (Feb. 12).
  • Season–high five steals came in the win over Pacific Union (Feb. 15).
2018 – Fresno City College
  • First team All–Central Valley Conference.
  • Started all 33 games.
  • Averaged 11.2 points and 4.5 assists per game as a sophomore.
  • Scored in double figures 18 times.
  • Scored a JuCo career–high 24 points in a win over Santa Barbara City (Dec. 16).
  • Lone double–double came with 15 points and 10 assists in a win over College of the Sequoias (Dec. 15).
  • Season–high nine rebounds came in a season–opening win over Santa Rosa JC (Nov. 9).
2017 – Fresno City College
  • First team All–CVC and third team all–state.
  • Started 26 of her 31 appearances.
  • Averaged 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and a California–leading 7.6 assists per game.
  • Scored in double figures 13 times.
  • Season–high 22 points came against Diablo Valley College (Dec. 11).
  • Posted seven games with double–figure assists.
  • JuCo career–high 15 assists came in a win over Taft College (Jan. 11).
  • Had a pair of points–assists double–doubles.
High School
  • Named the Western Athletic Conference MVP as a senior in 2016.
  • 3–time All–WAC.
  • Averaged 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 10.1 assists per game as a senior.
  • Led California in assists in 2016.
  • Posted double–digit assists 11 times as a senior, including 19 against Los Banos High School(Feb. 9, 2016).
  • Finished with six points/assists double–doubles as a senior.
  • Prep career–high 24 points came as a junior in a win over Pacheco High School (Feb. 5, 2015).
  • Played travel ball with Stanco Stampede.
Personal
  • Is majoring sociology.
  • Wants to coach college basketball after her playing career is over.
  • Earned her associate’s degree in liberal arts at Fresno City College.
  • Lists hiking, dancing and hanging out with her dog amongst her leisure time activities.
  • Her mother, Salinda Padilla, was a member of the Cal State Stanislaus women’s basketball team that reached the NCAA Division III national championship game in 1989.
