Crystal Sullivan

Crystal Sullivan

Crystal Sullivan joined the Cal State Monterey Bay Sports Medicine staff in the fall of 2011 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.  She is currently serving as the Interim Lead Athletic Trainer.  Upon her initial arrival at CSUMB, she immediately made a large impact on the sports medicine program with her skills, enthusiasm and the shared vision to improve the program at CSUMB.

Crystal’s sport assignments include volleyball, cross country, basketball and golf.

When Crystal joined the Sports Medicine Team at CSUMB, she held numerous extra certifications that included the Graston Technique, the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) as well as an American Red Cross Certified Instructor.  Since then she has maintained these certifications and also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).  She uses all these tools to better treat and prevent injuries within the athletic teams here at CSUMB.  Since Crystal has been here, she also certified all coaches and staff in CPR/AED to create a safer environment for all athletes and staff at CSUMB.

Crystal received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science with an Athletic Training option from Oregon State University. While at OSU she worked most closely with the women’s gymnastics team as well as a variety of other sports in NCAA Division I, Division II and high school settings.

She earned her master’s of science in education from the post professional athletic training education program at Old Dominion University. She worked most closely with ODU’s nine-time NCAA Champion field hockey team as well as the basketball, soccer, tennis and baseball programs.

Crystal strives to continue to make a difference at CSUMB and hopes to further improve the Sports Medicine Program at CSUMB.  She hopes that the impact she has already made and the vision she has for the program will only further develop and improve the quality of care for all athletes, old and new, at CSUMB.

Sullivan currently resides in Marina.
