Demetrius Jackson begins his first season as an assistant coach with the CSUMB men’s basketball program.
Jackson is involved with all aspects of coaching and scouting, in addition to recruiting.
Jackson comes to CSUMB after serving as the head freshman coach at Sacred Heart Cathedral High School.
In 2004, Jackson began a three-year stint as the Athletic Director and a Physical Education teacher at the Boys and Girls Club of Redwood City. Prior to that, he served as the Program Coordinator at the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco.
During his two-year playing career at University of the Pacific, Jackson averaged 13.4 points and 3.3 assists per game, while shooting 83.7 (190-for-227) percent from the free throw line. He made UOP history by scoring the most points in a debut game with 37 on Nov. 17, 2001 at Santa Clara University.
Jackson competed in the junior college ranks at Shasta College, where he was a two year starter and All-State selection and two-time All-Conference selection. Jackson led the Knights to two League Championships.
Jackson received a bachelor’s degree in communication from University of the Pacific.
