Biography

UNIVERSITY OF THE PACIFIC: Appeared in 30 games, starting 13 for the Tigers as a freshman in 2011... played five different positions for Pacific: second base, shortstop, left field, centerfield and designated hitter. Collected 13 hits in 58 at bats for a .224 average, with two doubles, a triple and a home run. Drove in 10 runs on the year, while scoring nine. Add both a sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly. Made his Pacific debut as a pinch runner and scored against Kansas State (Feb. 19). Started against Gonzaga and went one-for-three with a double and run badded in on March 5. Delivered an RBI single in two at bats at Nevada (March 12). Added a two-RBI day against the Wolfpack on March 13. Hit his first career home run, delivering a pinch-hit three-run blast to left to give Pacific all the runs the Tigers would need in a 3-0 win over San Francisco on March 27. Scored three runs in the Tigers' win at Sacramento State on March 29, with a triple and a walk. Went two-for-four with an RBI as the starting DH against UC Davis on May 8. Went three-for-eight on the season as a pinch-hitter... As a sophomore he started 40 games at second base, third base and DH. Came off the bench in six more. Hit .261 on the season with a .379 slugging percentage, a triple and one home run. His 13 doubles was second on the team and 12th in the Big West. Turned in seven multi-hit games including three-hit games against Cal Poly (both April 28 and 29), and a four-hit game against Brown (March 24). Collected eight hits in 20 at bats with a two doubles and three RBI against Brown (March 24-26).Went 6-for-8 with two doubles, a homer and two RBI in the series against Cal Poly (April 27-29)... in Gomez's third season was cut short by injury, granting him a medical redshirt for the season. Prior to his injury, Gomez saw action in 12 games on the year while picking up 10 starts. At the plate, he hit .185 with five hits in 27 at bats while tallying one run and one RBI. Starting as the Tigers' DH against Creighton on Mar. 15, Gomez went 2-for-4. He added a third hit a day later while picking up a run and driving in one more.

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-time First Team All-Santa Cruz Coast League selection, as a junior and senior... Gomez posted a .495 batting average as a senior with three home runs. During his junior campaign, he recorded a .567 batting average as 19 of his 51 hits went for extra bases. He also drove in 34 runs and stole 36 bases in 37 attempts… As a sophomore, Gomez tallied a .415 average with six doubles and three home runs… During Gomez's sophomore season in 2008, he hit .415 with six doubles, three home runs, and 28 RBI. That gave Curtis a .646 slugging percentage which helped him earn second team all-league accolades… Played under his father, Curtis Gomez, who was the head coach of St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School… A three-sport athlete, Gomez also played quarterback on the varsity football team and point guard on the Sharks basketball team, earning First Team All-League honors in basketball as a senior.

PERSONAL: Owns a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management... currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration at CSUMB... wants to play professional baseball or become a coach... enjoys playing and watching basketball, football, and golf... son of Curtis and Magda Gomez... older sister. Alyssa, is a registered nurse.
