As a Junior in 2013: Appeared in 36 games with 17 starts…had two hits in the series finale 7-1 win versus Cal State Stanislaus (4/28) with a double, a run and a RBI…went 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs in the 11-5 victory over Cal State San Bernardino (4/13). 

As a Sophomore in 2012 at West Valley: All-Golden Gate Conference first team selection…finished with a .290 batting average…drove in a team-leading 21 RBIs…nine doubles…one triple.
 
As a Freshman in 2011 at West Valley: Appeared in 35 games…batted .241 with 28 hits in 116 at-bats, including 18 runs and 20 RBIs…three stolen bases.
 
High School: Two-time Blossom Valley All-League selection in baseball and football…career hit record holder with 105…in senior year, became school’s single-season hit leader with 44 while hitting .419 with 22 RBIs, 29 runs, 10 doubles, a triple and three home runs…junior year, hit .358 with 34 hits, 21 RBIs, 26 runs, 11 doubles and two home runs.
 
Personal: Son of Gary Tia and Shannon Bernarding…has three younger siblings: Mafi, Lei and Gary Jr…plans on majoring in liberal studies.
