Biography
2007–09 – San Jose State
Injuries derailed the San Jose State career of Oliver Caballero, but a strong rehab program and a desire to complete his collegiate education landed the big man on the Cal State Monterey Bay campus…started the first five games of his freshman campaign in 2007–08 and played in 27 total, averaging 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds per game…saw limited action in an injury–abbreviated 13 games sophomore season, averaging 1.4 points and 1.0 rebounds…career–high eight points came in consecutive games versus Appalachian State and Lipscomb (Nov. 16–17, 2007)…career–high seven rebounds came at Fresno State (Jan. 26, 2008).
High School
Caballero enjoyed a solid prep career at Alisal High School, earning All–Monterey Bay League honors after averaging 17.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in his final prep season.
Personal
Caballero is majoring in world languages and cultures…is a native of Caborca, Mexico…was invited to try out for the Mexican National Team for the 2007 Tournament of the Americas…is married (Melissa)…the best man at his wedding was his high school coach, Jose Gil.
