Softball Opens Regional vs. Dominguez Hills

Otters making their first NCAA appearance since 2022

SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay softball team returns to NCAA Tournament play for the first time since 2022 when it takes on Cal State Dominguez Hills in the opening round of the NCAA Division II West Regional Thursday on the campus of Cal State San Marcos.

CSUMB (32–22 overall) enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed Dominguez Hills (36–22). The teams have met five times this season, with the Toros holding a 3–2 edge in those games.

The winner of Thursday's game will take on the winner of the game between No. 1 Cal State San Marcos and No. 8 Hawaii-Hilo Friday at 10 a.m. The loser will face the loser in an elimination game Friday at 12:30 p.m.
