Top eight in final rankings (May 10) advance to the NCAA West Regional

NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS | SOFTBALL NOTES at SAN FRANCISCO STATE

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay softball team finds itself in the thick of the NCAA Tournament race, checking in at No. 5 in the second NCAA West Region rankings, released Apr. 29. The top eight teams in the final rankings on May 10 will advance to the NCAA West Regional Tournament.

CCAA rivals Cal State San Marcos and Cal State East Bay top the rankings. Concordia University and Cal State Dominguez Hills check in at numbers three and four. CSUMB has eight wins against the teams appearing in this week's rankings.

The Otters have four games remaining in the regular season with a series at San Francisco State Friday and Saturday. The Otters need to win at least two of the four games to secure a spot in next week's CCAA Championship Tournament.
