TRACY, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay softball completed a weekend sweep of action at the NorCal Crossover with a 7–3 victory over Simon Fraser University Sunday at the Tracy Sports Complex.

CSUMB (15–4 overall) went 5–0 in tournament play and ran its current winning streak to nine games with the win.

The Otters got all the runs they would need in a 4-run first inning, capped by a 2-run double from shortstop Andrea DeJesus (Live Oak HS/West Valley College). Abreanna Alba (Watsonville HS/Cabrillo College) added and RBI single in the third. Catherine Calzada (Lakewood HS/Sacred Heart University) hit a sac fly and DeJesus drew a bases-loaded walk to close the Otter scoreline.

Otter pitchers Jordan Knutson (Medford, Ore./West Medford HS) and Kadence Nulick (Madera/Buchanan HS) scattered nine hits, with four of those of the infield variety. Knutson went 5 2/3 innings to earn the win and improve to 6–0. Nulick pitched an inning and a third of scoreless relief to earn her first save of the season.

THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN… Kadence Nulick coaxed Anika Janzen to ground to short with the bases loaded to end the game.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TIME… The Otters placed three players on the NorCal Crossover All-Tournament team: Abreanna Alba, Kaitlyn Le and Nevaeh Martinez.

THE WINS KEEP ON COMING… The Otters ran their winning streak to nine games with Sunday's 7–3 victory over Simon Fraser. It's their longest streak since winning 14 in a row from Mar. 23–Apr. 8, 2022.

SPEAKING OF NINE-GAME STREAKS: Nevaeh Martinez went 1-for-4 in Sunday's win over Simon Fraser to run her hitting streak to nine games. It's the second longest streak by an Otter this season (Kieley Ganaden had an 11-game streak).

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE…NEUTRAL? The Otters have enjoyed a neutral field advantage in one-plus seasons under Head Coach Emily Montañez. With Sunday's win, the Otters are 11–4 in neutral site games so far this season and 19–6 at neutral sites under her leadership.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT… The Otters will open CCAA play with a 4-game series against Chico State Friday and Saturday (Mar. 6-7) at the Otter Sports Complex.
