Escalante Named All-Tournament At West Coast Challenge

Junior outfielder hit her first two collegiate homers at tourney

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — Junior outfielder Ellie Escalante (Soquel HS) capped a strong weekend performance by earning all-tournament honors at the D2 West Coast Challenge.

Escalante hit .389 (7-for-18) with four runs, four RBI and a stolen base in addition to the previously mentioned home runs. Her first homer came in the tournament-opening win against Western New Mexico. The second came in a tough loss against Colorado Christian.

Escalante's award is third all-tournament honor for CSUMB softball this season. Catherine Calzada and Kieley Ganaden earned all-tourney recognition at the Concordia Kickoff Classic opening weekend.

CSUMB (6–4 overall) will take the week off from competition before returning to the Otter Sports Complex for their 2026 home openers against Dominican University Feb. 18.
