Ganaden, Knutson Sweep CCAA PoTW Honors

Softball duo leads Otters to 4-0 week

February 23, 2026

SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay softball swept this week's honors, with senior outfielder Kieley Ganaden (North Salinas HS) and freshman righty Jordan Knutson (Medford, Ore./South Medford HS) have been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the week of Feb. 16-22.

Knutson is the first Otter pitcher to win the award since Kadence Nulick was so honored for the week ending Mar. 30, 2025. Ganaden is the first Otter position player to win it since Alyssa Burt for the week ending Mar. 26, 2023.

Knutson earned two complete game victories, including her second collegiate shutout on Friday against Menlo College, to improve her record to 4-0. In a total of 12 innings of work, she allowed just one earned run to post a 0.58 ERA, yielded 10 hits with nine strikeouts against five walks.

She threw seven innings and gave up a single run in the team's 6-1 win over Dominican on Wednesday. Knutson then pitched a five inning complete game shutout as the Otters blanked Menlo College, 8-0, on Friday. She fanned five batters in Friday's win over Menlo.

Knutson is among the CCAA leaders in innings pitched (fifth, 36.1), strikeouts (sixth, 22) and opposing batting average (sixth, .236). She is one of six pitchers tied for second in the conference with four wins. Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard

Ganaden batted .750 with a slugging percentage of 1.625 while posting a .846 on-base percentage for a red-hot offensive performance in three appearances. She went 6-for-8 with two triples, a homer, drove in eight runs and scored five times to lead the Otters to wins over Dominican and Menlo College.

She also walked four times and was hit by a pitch once to contribute to her solid OPS of 2.471. Ganaden extended her hitting streak to 11 games and has reached base safely in 13 consecutive games.

After sitting out Wednesday's first game, Ganaden went 2-for-3 with a bases-clearing three-run triple in the second inning. The third baseman also drew a bases loaded walk in the fourth to account for her 4-RBI game. In Friday's first game against Menlo, Ganaden was 3-for-4 with a triple and drove in two scores as the DP. In the nightcap, as the left fielder, she belted a two-run jack in the fourth to help CSUMB to a 8-0 shortened game.

Ganaden is second in the CCAA in batting (.511), slugging (.822), on-base (.585) percentages, as well as OPS (1.407). She is also second in hits (23) and third in runs (17) and RBI (18). Click here to see the CCAA stats leaderboard
