Otters Extend Shutout Streak to Four; Blank Dominguez Hills

Dow scores twice as CSUMB defense stretches scoreless streak to 360 minutes

SEASIDE, Calif. — The shutout streak continues for Cal State Monterey Bay. The Otters recorded their fourth consecutive clean sheet Saturday night, controlling Cal State Dominguez Hills from start to finish in a 2-0 CCAA victory at Cardinale Stadium. The win improved CSUMB to 5-2-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.

CSUMB has now gone 360 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal, a stretch that began with a 2-0 victory at Cal State San Marcos and continued with a scoreless draw at Cal Poly Pomona, a 3-0 win over San Francisco State and Saturday's victory over Dominguez Hills.

The shutout marked CSUMB's fourth consecutive clean sheet, the longest shutout streak in program history. The Otters have not conceded a goal in 360 consecutive minutes, also surpassing the previous program record of 323 scoreless minutes set in 2021.

The latest shutout may have been the Otters' most dominant defensive performance of the streak. CSUMB held Dominguez Hills without a shot in the opening 45 minutes and surrendered just three total attempts and no shots on goal for the match. Goalkeeper Willow Baltazar earned her fourth straight clean sheet without needing to make a save.

While the defense continued to lock down opponents, Juliana Dow supplied all the offense.
Dow broke through in the 34th minute, finishing a chance created by Bailey Rozier to send the Otters into halftime with a 1-0 advantage. She struck again in the 78th minute, converting off assists from Gianna Foss and Jadynn King to complete the brace.

CSUMB controlled the match territorially throughout the night. The Otters finished with a commanding 23-3 advantage in shots, 9-0 edge in shots on goal and 10-3 advantage in corner kicks. They produced 12 shots and seven corners before halftime, then added another 11 attempts after the break.

Dow finished with five shots and put both of her attempts on frame into the back of the net. Ella Schug added three shots on goal, while Foss and Naomi Tobias each recorded four attempts as CSUMB consistently applied pressure.

The victory also completed a perfect two-match homestand for the Otters, who outscored San Francisco State and Dominguez Hills 5-0 while allowing just 10 total shots and five on goal across the two contests.

The Otters hit the road to face UC Merced on Friday, Oct. 9.
