Otters Play No. 24 Hawai’i Hilo to a Scoreless Draw

Contest marked the home opener for CSUMB

SEASIDE, Calif. – For the second straight match, the Cal State Monterey women's soccer team continued its theme of staunch defense as it played No. 24 Hawai'i Hilo to a scoreless draw on Monday afternoon at Cardinale Stadium.

The Otters have not allowed a goal in the first 180 minutes of the season and move to 1-0-1 overall. Once again, Olivia Wynn and Willow Baltazar split the duties in goal as the duo combined for five saves.

CSUMB was outshot, 20-8, as Naomi Tobias paced the squad with three tallies, putting two on frame. Ella Schug fired off two shots with one on goal.

Lydia Keller earned the clean sheet for the Vulcans, making five saves. Shae Dougherty recorded four shots and put two on goal.

The Otters have a quick turnaround as they return to Cardinale Stadium on Wednesday, September 10, to face off against Dominican University. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
