FRESNO, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team raced out of the gate to open the 2025 campaign, blitzing host Fresno Pacific, 5-0, Thursday night at Ramirez Field.
The five goals are the biggest scoring output since taking down Dominguez Hills, 8-0 to close the 2022 season.
CSUMB was dominant in all facets of the match as five different Otters scored and proceeded to outshoot the Sunbirds, 18-0.
The Otters recorded their first tally on the season when
Jaedyn Sanders scored in the 13
th minute.
In the 38
th minute,
Naomi Tobias finished off a
Juliana Dow finish and just four minutes later
Miye Kodama got on the scoresheet with a tally from Tobias.
CSUMB would add two more in the second half to secure the victory as
Kaylie Fowler buried the second assist on the evening from Tobias in the 73
rd minute and Dow would cap it off with a goal that was setup by
Tiger Rendon.
Olivia Wynn and
Willow Baltazar teamed-up for the clean sheet as Wynn made three saves.
The Otters will open their home slate against Hawai'i Hilo on Monday, Sept. 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Cardinale Stadium.
