BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team dropped its first contest of the season, falling to Western Washington, 4-1, Thursday evening at Harrington Field. After the match, CSUMB moves to 1-1-2 on the season.
 
The Otters scored their lone goal in the 68^th minute, as Morgan Purvey followed up her own shot and found the back of the net for her first tally of the season.
 
The Vikings scored early and often as Morgan Manalili recorded a hat trick for Western Washington, with her first coming just 51 seconds into the contest.
 
The Otters will continue their Pacific Northwest trip with a match against Central Washington on Saturday, Sept. 20. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
