ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team capped off its trip to the Pacific Northwest with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Central Washington, Saturday morning at Tomlinson Field.
The Wildcats scored two first half goals to take the lead, but the Otters got one back in the second half.
Sophomore
Gianna Foss recorded her first tally of the season as she finished a
Chloe Van Winkle helper in the 63rd minute to pull the Otters within one.
The Wildcats came out of the gate quick, outshooting the Otters, 11-4, in the first half, but CSUMB put the pressure on in the second frame, outshooting CWU, 11-6, to push the final total to 17-15 in favor of the Wildcats.
Senior
Jaedyn Sanders paced CSUMB with six shots and put three on frame. The Otters split their goalkeeper time as
Olivia Wynn did not allow a goal and was credited with two saves.
CSUMB returns home to host Concordia Irvine on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
