SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team concluded the 2025 portion of its schedule with a 67–58 decision to Cal Poly Humboldt Sunday afternoon at the Kelp bed.
After a slow first half that saw the Otters shoot 23-percent from the floor, CSUMB regrouped and combined for 35 points in the second half, including pouring in 19 in the final frame.
In the final quarter, Monterey Bay out-scored Humboldt, 19-6, and shot 50-percent from the field and 67-percent from beyond the arc.
Newcomer
Riley Walls paced the Otters with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while sophomore
Leah Sarabia posted a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Overall, the Otters shot 33-percent from the floor but was active on the glass, outrebounding the Lumberjacks, 43-30.
CSUMB will open the new year with a four-game road trip. The Otters will head to Stanislaus State on Friday, Jan. 2, and then cap off the weekend at CCAA newcomer UC Merced on Sunday, Jan. 4.
