SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team used two second half goals to come back and sink UC Merced, 2-1, Friday evening at Cardinale Stadium.
After allowing the Bobcat goal in the 19th minute, the Otters took control after the intermission.
Sophomore Miye Kodama evened the score at 1-1 when she followed up a Naomi Tobias shot in the 54th minute.
Junior Kamryn Bubak then buried the game-winner in the 76th minute after she cleaned up a Juliana Dow blocked shot.
The Otters outshot the Bobcats, 15-10, putting eight on frame. Tobias led all players with four shots on the evening.
Freshman Willow Baltazar allowed the lone goal and made one save, while senior Olivia Wynn made two stops and posted 45 shutout minutes in the second half.
The Otters will close out their final regular season home match against Stanislaus State. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, from Cardinale Stadium.
