Late Goal by Gianna Foss Lifts Otters Over Pioneers

Otters post fourth shutout of the season

HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay sophomore Gianna Foss scored in the 84th minute to lift the Otters to a 1-0 shutout victory over Cal State East Bay Sunday afternoon at the Chabot College Soccer Field.

Newcomer Willow Baltazar earned her first complete shutout of her career on the strength of three saves. 

Foss scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the 84th minute. The Otters out-shot the Pioneers 14-9, with Tiger Rendon and Ella Schug leading the squad with three shots apiece. 

Ashley Levi made seven saves and Kella Folkerts led CSUEB with three shots.

The Otters will close out their regular season home slate with two matches at Cardinale Stadium. CSUMB opened the weekend on Friday, Oct. 24 against UC Merced. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
