SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team suffered its first shutout of the season, falling 4-0 to Cal State San Marcos Friday evening at Cardinale Stadium.
Efren Nunez Dominguez bookended the scoring for the Cougars, burying the first goal of the match in the 30
th minute and then finished off the night with another in the 72
nd minute. The midfielder also handed out an assist and led all players with six shots.
CSUSM out-shot CSUMB, 21-13 as
Eric Vazquez-Acosta and
Julian Lomeli paced the Otters with three apiece.
Aria Afshar and
Jacob Aiona made three saves each as Afshar played the majority of the match in goal, logging 72 minutes.
The Otters will hit the road and head to Hayward to face Cal State East Bay on Sunday, Oct. 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
