SEASIDE, Calif. – The Gen Giammanco Foundation established the first-ever CSUMB athletics scholarship endowment that directly supports Monterey County student-athletes in honor of the memory of Genevieve "Gen" Giammanco.
"We are so grateful for the annual scholarship gifts that the Gen Giammanco Foundation has contributed over the years," Cal State Monterey Bay director of athletics Kirby Garry said. "Volleyball student-athletes Lacee Ventura, Anela Visesio and Kaila Uota were all Gen Giammanco Scholarship recipients. This past year, men's soccer student-athlete Alexis Sanchez benefitted from the foundation's support."

The new six-figure endowment gift significantly elevates the foundation's level of support and ensures that an annual athletic scholarship will be awarded to a deserving local student-athlete in perpetuity in memory of Gen Giammanco.
The mission of the Gen Giammanco Foundation is to advance educational opportunities for students through the benefits of participating in athletics at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels in Monterey County. POWER OF GEN is the POWER OF GIVING in honor and loving memory of Gen Giammanco.
The Gen Giammanco Foundation is committed to helping provide students access to athletic experiences in school.
Since its inception in 2017, Gen's Schools Program has helped finance under-funded necessary athletic department needs such as equipment, field improvements, and uniforms.
