SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team clamped down once again on the defensive end, blanking San Francisco State in their final non-conference match, 1-0. Saturday afternoon at Cox Stadium.
Jaedyn Sanders scored her first goal as a member of the Otters, finishing a
Jennifer Limon pass in the 54
th minute.
Olivia Saenz and Nylah Mirshafei combined for the clean sheet in goal. The Otters out-shot the Gators, 9-3, as Sanders and
Tiger Rendon fired off three shots apiece.
STINGY DEFENSE… The Otters capped off their non-conference schedule by blanking the Gators. The shutout is the fourth of the season and marks the eighth straight match CSUMB has allowed one goal or less. The Otters surrendered one goal or less on 13 occasions in 2023.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT… The Otters open CCAA play next week with a pair of matches on the road. CSUMB will south to Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, Oct. 4, and then play nationally ranked Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday, Oct. 6.
