Otters Selected to Participate in the NCAA Division II West Regional

CSUMB will compete for a spot in the national championship at Stockton

SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team will return to the NCAA Division II Regional Championship. The NCAA officially announced the regional fields on Monday as the Otters are one of 12 teams selected to compete from the West Region.

The West Regional will take place at the Brookside Golf & Country Club in Stockton. The 54-hole event will begin on May 6, with a round being played each day.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to move on and compete for a spot on the National Championship," Coach Jim Ragan said. "Team wise we have been very competitive all year. I know the team is looking forward to next week in Stockton."

All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top five teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships.

The championships will be held May 21-25 at Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, Florida. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.
CSUMB is coming off a second place finish at the CCAA Championship, posting its best three-round score (892) at the event in program history.
 
Earlier in the day, Cathy Tong, Zoe Offield and Madi Blanc garnered All-CCAA honors.
