Shaw, Lewis Make History As Women Close With Win

Shaw joins exclusive club, Lewis with season high in 76-59 victory

TURLOCK, Calif. — Playing their final games as Otters, Sarah Shaw (Dana Point/JSerra HS) and Deyliana Lewis (Stockton/Bear Creek HS) gave historic performances to lead Cal State Monterey Bay to a 76–59 win over Stanislaus State Thursday night in Fitzpatrick Arena.

Shaw grabbed 11 rebounds to become just the fourth player in CSUMB history to record 500 rebounds and 500 points in her career. Lewis, meanwhile, poured in a season–high 22 points to lead the Otters to their first road victory of the season.

The game was closer than the final score indicated. The teams played through 10 ties and 11 lead changes until a sweet pass from Kiki Roberts (Fairfield/Vanden HS) freed Samiya Terry (Long Beach Wilson HS) for a layup that broke a 44–44 tie late in the third quarter.

The Otters then used a 28–point fourth quarter—their biggest fourth quarter output of the season—to pull away.
