Ella Doherty poured in a game-high 17 points on 7-of-18 shooting in 36 minutes of action.
Jayden McNeal nearly recorded a double-double with eight points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The charity stripe proved to be a strength for the Otters as they converted 90-percent of their attempts, going 18-for-20 at the line. The clip was the best mark in program history with 20-or-more free throw attempts.
The Otters tried to erase a 35-24 halftime deficit, out-scoring the Urban Knights 29-24 in the second half, including a 20-point fourth quarter that saw CSUMB pull within five with just under two minutes left.
The Otters will hit the road for five straight games, returning to the court to face Dominican University on Friday, Nov. 15.
