SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team suffered its first conference home loss of the season, falling 2-1 to Cal State LA Sunday afternoon at Cardinale Stadium. After the match, the Otters move to 6-3-7 overall and 3-2-5 in CCAA play.
The Golden Eagles struck first in the 19
th minute when Sofia Orozco recorded the lone goal in the first half.
Tiger Rendon evened the score in the second half at the 65-minute mark when she took advantage of a CSULA miscue for her third goal of the season.
The Golden Eagles then scored the eventual game-winner three minutes later when Jassmin Ortiz was credited with the goal.
CSUMB outshot CSULA, 10-7, putting seven on goal. Rendon paced the Otters with five shots with four on goal.
The Otters will close out their regular season against San Francisco State. The two teams will meet on Thursday, November 7, with kickoff slated for 11:30 a.m.
