Otters Suffer First Conference Defeat of the Season

CSUMB falls at Cal Poly Humboldt, 1-0

ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team suffered its first CCAA loss of the season, falling 1-0, on the road at Cal Poly Humboldt.
 
Emilie Wallin's goal in the 71st minute proved to be the difference as the Lumberjacks earned the victory at College Creek Field.
 
The Otters were outshot 8-7 as freshman Gianna Foss paced the team with two shots, putting one on frame.
 
The CCAA leader in goals against average, Nylah Mirshafiei allowed the one tally and made three saves.
 
CSUMB will return to Cardinale Stadium for a pair of matches. The Otters will host Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Nov. 1, and then face Cal State L.A. on Sunday.
