SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The theme of the season continued as the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team recorded its seventh shutout of the year by playing Cal State San Marcos to a scoreless draw, Thursday afternoon on the road at The Cage.
The seventh shutout enabled the Otters to extend their program-record unbeaten streak to 10 matches. The seven shutouts in a season are the most since 2022.
Nylah Mirshafiei posted her second straight clean sheet on the strength of five saves. The sophomore has not allowed a goal in her last 193 minutes of play.
CSUMB has allowed one goal or less in 10 of their 11 matches this season. The Otters allowed one goal or less on 13 occasions last season.
The Otters were out-shot 8-6 as
Tiger Rendon and
Gianna Foss paced the squad with two shots apiece.
CSUMB will return to Cardinale Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 20, to host Cal State East Bay. The two teams open a doubleheader at 11:30 a.m.
