CHICO – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team fell just short of a CCAA win on Saturday, dropping a 70-61 decision at the Acker Gym at Chico State.

Ciarah Michalik led all Otter scorers with 14 points and handed out two assists.
 
CSUMB controlled most of the game but the second quarter proved to be the difference as they were outscored 27-8 in the frame.
 
SHAW CLIMBS THE RANKINGS… Sarah Shaw added 12 more points on Saturday to move her career total to 462. She is now tied for 23^rd all-time in the CSUMB career annals.
