SEASIDE, CALIF. – MBFC2, a member of the USL2, had their terrific inaugural season come to an end in Ventura, falling to defending USL2 champions Ventura County Fusion by a score of 1-0. This brought the first season of MBFC2 soccer to a close with a terrific 10-2-1 record. Of the 21-man roster for MBFC2, eight members are either current or former Otters.
"It was an amazing opportunity for the guys to play on MBFC2. They got to play at the highest level of summer league soccer available for student athletes and got to play together on the same team with a professional coaching staff." noted CSUMB Head Men's Soccer Coach
Graeme Jaap. "Training with top coaches and other good college players, while playing in more meaningful games can only help them as we move into our fall season. Some of the experiences that they had will last a lifetime and I know the lads felt tremendous pride representing Monterey Bay FC."
Otters Miguel Guerrero, Garrett Hayes, Janos Kommerling, Jose Madrigal, Luis Mendoza, Francisco Ponce, Alexis Sanchez, and
Hugo Vargas-Rios all were a part of the debut season for MBFC2, and combined for 12 of the team's 32 goals. Congratulations to this group on being part of the historic season.
GO OTTERS!
