Women Fall To Golden Eagles, 1-0

Otters manage just one shot on goal in first CCAA setback

LOS ANGELES — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team couldn't find an offensive rhythm Sunday afternoon as Cal State L.A. made a lone first half goal hold up for a 1–0 victory at CSULA's University Stadium.

The Golden Eagles broke through with the game's only marker when Jassmin Ortiz banked one in off the far post in the 29th minute.

The L.A. defense remained composed throughout the first half, not allowing CSUMB to attempt a shot through the first 51 minutes. The Otters managed three shots total and were able to put just a single ball on frame.

The Otters return to Cardinale Stadium for a pair of matches next weekend, starting with a visit from Sonoma State Friday (Oct. 6). Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. as the nightcap of doubleheader action with the Otter men.
