Women’s Basketball Notebook: Otters Host Nationally-Ranked Cougars

No. 19 Cal State San Marcos visits Thursday to open 2-game homestand

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball returns to The Kelp Bed for the first of two home games over the next four weeks against nationally–ranked opponents when No. 19 Cal State San Marcos visits Thursday (Feb. 2). Tip-off will be at 5:30 p.m. as the opener of doubleheader action with the Otter men.

San Marcos, coached by former Otter leader Renee Jimenez, is the defending CCAA Champion and enter the week with records of 15–3 overall and 12–2 in the CCAA. CSUMB will be looking for its first win over a ranked opponents since beating No. 16 Chico State66–64 at the NCAA West Regional on Mar. 16, 2013.

For what it's worth, the coach of that Otter team was Renee Jimenez.
