SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team begins the second half of its CCAA schedule this week when it heads up U.S. 101 for a pair of games against Northern California foes. The weekend begins Thursday (Jan. 26) with a rematch at Sonoma State. Tip-off with be at 5:30 p.m. as the opener of doubleheader action with the Otter men.

The first time these teams met in 2023, Mikayla Mabie led the Otters in points (12), rebounds (6) and assists (3), but it wasn't enough to stop Sonoma State from earning a 58–48 win in The Kelp Bed on Jan. 7. Sonoma built a lead as big as 21 points in the third quarter before a furious Otter rally cut the deficit to eight in the fourth. Ali McDonald led all scorers with 23 points for SSU.
