Men’s Basketball Notebook: Otters Tackle Toros In Carson

CSUMB looks avenge 2022 CCAA Tournament upset

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketballs will travel up and down the state for a pair of games this weekend,  beginning Thursday (Jan. 12) at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The men will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. as the nightcap of doubleheader action with the Otter women.

The last time these teams met, the Otters led for most of their CCAA Tournament first round game with Cal State Dominguez Hills, but the Toros rallied late to take a 69–60 decision in Lumberjack Arena on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt last March. Andrew Ferguson led the Otters with an 18–point, 11–rebound double–double in his final collegiate game. Levi Frankland added 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Chris Seeley led all scorers with 25 points for Dominguez Hills.

The Otters will be looking for their first road win of the season and for the opportunity to move up as many as three places in the CCAA standings with a pair of wins this week. Dominguez Hills has dropped two of three and will be playing the second of three games this week when the Otters visit. The Toros dropped an 87–77 decision to No. 12 Cal State San Bernardino Monday evening.
