Women’s Basketball Notebook: Otters Head To SoCal For The Weekend

CSUMB seeks first CCAA win of the season Thursday at Cal State L.A.

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball heads to Southern California seeking its first CCAA win of the season with a pair of games. The trip starts Thursday (Dec. 8) at Cal State L.A. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. as the opener of doubleheader action with the Otter men.

The Otters (3–4, 0–3 CCAA) are coming off a tough 56–52 loss to Cal State San Bernardino in which they led for much of the game and trailed by one with 25 seconds remaining. All four of CSUMB's losses now have come by six or fewer points.

Cal State L.A. (3–3, 1–1) snapped a 3–game losing streak with an 89–68 win at Stanislaus State Saturday afternoon.

The game will feature the top two scorers in the CCAA: Conference leader Lauryn Pointer (16.3 ppg) and No. 2 Nicole Felnnaugh (15.8 ppg).
