Women’s Basketball Notebook: Otters Welcome Coyotes To Close Homestand

CSUMB seeks first CCAA win of the season Saturday against San Bernardino

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball will seek its first CCAA win of the season when it host Cal State San Bernardino for a Saturday matinée in The Kelp Bed. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. as the opener of doubleheader action with the Otter men.

The Otters (3–3, 0–2 CCAA) are coming off a hard-fought loss to perennial title contender Cal Poly Pomona Thursday night, when they kept the Broncos in range before falling, 67–61. Lauryn Pointer led all scorers with 26 points.

San Bernardino (4–2, 1–1) picked up its first CCAA victory of the campaign Thursday night by defeating San Francisco State, 66–61, in The City. Nikki Mayoral scored 12 points to lead a balanced Coyote attack that saw five players score in double figures.
