Men’s Basketball Notebook: Otters Open In Oregon

Men to face Central Washington, Western Oregon Nov. 11-12

SEASIDE, Calif. — The youth movement of the Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team begins this weekend with a trip to Monmouth, Ore. for the GNAC/CCAA Challenge Nov. 11–12 at Western Oregon University's New PE Building. The Otters will face Central Washington Friday (Nov. 11) at 5 p.m. and host WOU Saturday (Nov. 12) at 7:15 p.m.

CSUMB (13–9, 12–6 CCAA in 2021–22) enters the new season with a roster featuring 11 freshmen (9) and sophomore (2) amongst its 15 players. How quickly the youngsters assimilate to the college game will determine if another postseason berth in the cards come March.

Expect All–CCAA pick Levi Frankland to lead the way early. The senior from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia is the teams leading returning scorer (12.3 ppg) from last season.
