Otter Women's Basketball Notebook vs. Cal State L.A.

MB looks for weekend split and first home win

SEASIDE, Calif. — Following its best effort of the season Thursday against CCAA preseason favorite Cal State San Marcos, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team looks to build on that perfromance when it hosts Cal State L.A. Saturday (Dec. 9) in its final game of the 2021 calendar year.

In their last outing, the Otters pushed heavily-favored San Marcos to the brink before the Cougars held on in the final minute to earn a 76–70 win Thursday night in The Kelp Bed. Senior guard Lauryn Pointer scored a career–high 20 points to lead the Otters to their highest point output since Jan. 18, 2020. Freshman guard Frances Potts chipped in a career–high 15 points while freshman center Sarah Shaw matched her career high with 11 rebounds.
