CSUMB heads back to The City for CCAA opener

November 24, 2021

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball heads back to The City to open its CCAA schedule Saturday, Nov. 27 at San Francisco State. It will be CSUMB's third game in The Swamp in eight days after playing in the San Francisco State Invitational Nov. 19–20.

In their last outing, the Otters used an 11–0 finishing run to stave off a late Holy Names comeback and win 53–46 Tuesday night in Tobin Gym. Freshmen Emily Perez and Frances Potts led the offense with 13 points apiece. L.A. Valley College transfer Rebecca Castillo grabbed 15 rebounds as CSUMB built a 44–18 edge on the glass.

Otter fans will have to wait awhile to see them play at home, as they open the season with a 7–game roadtrip. CSUMB will play its first home game Thursday, Dec. 9 against Cal State San Marcos.
