SEASIDE, Calif. — A cold second quarter spoiled Senior Day for the Cal State Monterey bay women's basketball team as No. 18 UC San Diego pulled away early for a 73–41 victory in The Kelp Bed.

The Otters stayed close throughout the first quarter, but made just two of 18 attempts from the field in the second as UCSD used a 23–5 spurt to put the game on ice by halftime. CSUMB never got closer than 19 points over the final 20 minutes.

Sylvia Vartazarian and Katie Fitzgerald led the Otters with 14 points apiece. Camille Parker added a game–high eight rebounds. Playing in her final collegiate home game, senior Siana Fields passed a game–high four assists.

The Otters will close the 2019–20 season with a pair of games in Southern California next weekend. The action starts Thursday (Feb. 27) when they try to complete a season sweep of Cal State San Bernardino with a rematch against the Coyotes.
