Cold Shooting Does Otters In At No. 2 UCSD

Otters set season low by shooting 19 percent from the floor in 71–36 setback

LA JOLLA, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team suffered through its coldest shooting night of the season Thursday night, falling at No. 2 UC San Diego 71–36 in RIMAC Arena.

Yolanda Ealy (Long Beach Poly/L.A. Valley College) scored 11 points while Jordana Price (Seattle/Inglemoor HS) grabbed eight rebounds and collected four steals for CSUMB. But the Otters shot a season–low 19 percent (11–of–57) from the floor, a number that wouldn't cut it against one of the nation's final two undefeated teams.
 

THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… The Tritons were credited with a team rebound with 2:59 remaining in the third quarter while holding a 54–23 lead.

THE OTTERS RUN HOT… The Otters were sizzling from the stripe Thursday night, making 13 of 14 free–throw attempts for a season–high percentage of .929.

THE OTTERS RUN COLD… The Otters made just 11 of 57 attempts from the field Thursday night for a season–low percentage of .193.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT FOR THE OTTER DEFENSE… Playing in her penultimate collegiate game, senior guard Jordana Price set a career high with four steals. Her previous high was three steals, achieved four times previously, last at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 7.
