Bill Trumbo Campus Celebration Of Life Set For Saturday

Celebration will take place in the University Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

SEASIDE, Calif. — A campus celebration of life for former Cal State Monterey Bay director of athletics and men's basketball coach Bill Trumbo will take place Saturday (Dec. 1).

Following celebration of life at the Christian Church of Pacific Grove (442 Central Ave, Pacific Grove, CA 93950) from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., the CSUMB campus celebration of life will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the living room of the CSUMB University Center (4314 Sixth Avenue Seaside, CA 93955) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Celebration attendees will be granted free admission to the CSUMB basketball doubleheader versus Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday afternoon (women's tipoff at 1 p.m./men's tipoff at 3 p.m.).

It's worth noting that the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's team is coached by CSUMB alum Steve Becker, who played for Coach Trumbo with the Otters in the mid-2000s.

Trumbo became CSUMB's director of athletics for the 2000–01 season. He took additional duties as men's basketball coach starting in the 2003–04 season. He continued in both roles until leaving CSUMB at the end of the 2005–06 seasons.
