SEASIDE, Calif. -- Adrian Rebollar (Watsonville HS) netted his second goal of the season in the 21st minute as the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team earned its first win in a 1-0 shutout over Fresno Pacific on Saturday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex.
Rebollar received a pass that gave him a free lane to a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. After his initial shot was blocked, he corralled the rebound and found a wide open net to give CSUMB a 1-0 lead. That goal proved to be all the Otters would need as they kept the Sunbirds off the board throughout the full 90 minutes.
The Otters Led FPU in shots 17-11 which included many opportunities at goals in the second half. Rebollar went 1-for-3 on shots on goal.
Luis Lopez (De Anza HS) also took three shots while
Gary Wheaton (Leland HS) and
Jose Gomes (De Anza HS) contributed two.
