SEASIDE, Calif. -- For the second consecutive game, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team was forced in to double overtime with the game ending in a 0-0 tie. On Tuesday afternoon, the Otters welcomed Dominican University to the Otter Sports Complex and despite outshooting the Penguins 15-6, neither team was able to get a ball in the back of the net.
CSUMB was fierce on the defensive end, holding Dominican with out a shot in the second half. On the offensive end, it wasn't for a lack of trying. The Otters had set piece chances as they racked up six corner kicks in the first half on their way to 10 in the game.
Ashlee Cortez (Trabuco HS) led the pressure attempting four shots while defender
Hadyn Gabbert (Lewis & Clark HS) took three shots in the tie. Goalkeeper
Alyssa Noh (Aliso Niguel HS) remained between the pipes for all 110 minutes and recorded three saves.
THEY GAME WAS OVER WHEN... The clock struck 0:00 at the end off the second overtime period, leading to a 0-0 tie.
TIE IT UP... With two ties through five games, the Otters now have the most tie games since 2013 when they had two over the 18 games season.

THE LAST WORD... "I thought the game went well. I think we were on the front foot the entire game, but we weren't quite detailed enough to break down an organized defense. We are also very organized in back as well. It was one of those games where we weren't able to breakthrough but we also kept the ball out of our net. I'm excited about my first year in the CCAA."
