STOCKTON, Calif. -- The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team couldn't find the timely hit to break open a big inning despite many chances at the crooked number in its first game of the 2017 CCAA Baseball Championship Tournament at Banner Island Ballpark, eventually falling to Cal Poly Pomona 6-3.
CSUMB and Cal Poly Pomona found its first runs without the benefit of a hit to tie the score at 1-1 after two innings. The Broncos opened things up with a 3-run third inning to lead 4-1.
