SEASIDE, Calif. — Freshman pitcher
Hayley Fein (Sparks, Nev./Spanish Springs HS) earned two wins and the offense exploded for 21 runs as the Cal State Monterey Bay softball team earned a doubleheader sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex.
CSUMB took the first game 11–2 in five innings before rallying with 10 unanswered runs to take the nightcap 10–5.
Sophomore second baseman
Courtney Hennings (Amador Valley HS) led the offensive barrage, finishing the afternoon 5-for-7 with a triple, a home run, five runs and three RBIs. Her 2–run blast highlighted a 3–run first which proved to be all the runs the Otters would need in Game 1. Her leadoff triple in the fourth inning of Game 2 brought the bats to life and began the 10–run barrage that led to the win.
In the circle, Fein went the distance in the opener, allowing just three hits for her fourth win. She pitched two innings of perfect relief in the nightcap for that victory,.
GAME 1 WAS OVER WHEN OVER WHEN… Joanna Perruccio (Cerritos College) hit a bases loaded triple that capped 4–run fourth inning and made it 11–2 Otters.

Anneliese Lopez (Ventura/Buena HS) double brought home
Courtney Hennings from first base and made it 7–5 Otters in the sixth.
LEADING OFF… CSUMB's 11–2 victory in Game 1 was its fifth run–rule win of the season. The Otters had eight run–rule wins in all of 2016.
ON DECK… Courtney Henning became the second Otter to hit a home run this season.

IN THE HOLE… The Otters will be looking to complete their first series sweep since taking four from Stanislaus State April 17–18, 2015.
