SEASIDE, Calif. — After a tough opening weekend on the road, a little home cooking proved to be just what the doctor ordered for the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team. The Otter led nearly wire-to-wire in an 84–69 win over Academy of Art Tuesday evening in The Kelp Bed.

The Urban Knights pulled to within four early in the second quarter, but the Otters ended the first half on a 21–4 run that gave them complete control.
CSUMB extended its lead to as many as 31 points (66–35) before a late ArtU surge made the final margin a bit more respectable.
