LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team ended its three-game road trip at Cal State L.A. The Otters got off to a slow start as the Golden Eagles outscored CSUMB 33-9 in the first quarter, however Monterey Bay came back to score 20 points in the second quarter to the Golden Eagles seven.
Despite the lopsided scoring in the first half, the Otters got within five points at 60-55 points late in the game. However, the first quarter hole was too deep to get out off as CSUMB lost 70-62.
THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… Da'Jah Jackson hit a free throw to put the Golden Eagles up by nine with 25 seconds remaining in the game.
LEADING THE WAY: With her 20 points tonight,
McKenna Hill has led the Otters in scoring eight times. That includes the last six games and seven of last eight games.
THE LAST WORD: "We started out really slow. We showed great fight and made a comeback with our defense and attacking the basket, but couldn't overcome the slow start."
