SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team began a 4–game road trip on Friday afternoon down south at Cal State San Bernardino.
The game looked like it was going to be tied up at intermission but a late goal by CSUSB's Megan Todd gave the Coyotes a 1-0 edge at the break. Despite more than doubling their shot total from the first half, the Otters eight second half shots were unable to find the back of the net. Alyssa Campa scored in the 81st minute to put the game out of reach for CSUMB in the 2-0 loss.
THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN... CSUSB's Alyssa Campa scored late in the second half, giving the Coyotes a 2-0 lead with less than 10 minutes remaining
SHOT LEADERS... Taylor Greenwood (Norco HS) led all players with four shots, two of which were on goal.
Ashlee Cortez (Trabuco Hill HS) contributed two shots and five other Otters chipped in a shot in the loss
THOU SHALL NOT SCORE... With 44:40 scoreless minutes in today's game,
Alyssa Noh (Aliso Niguel HS) set the CSUMB scoreless minutes record by not allowing a goal for the last 228:03. She beat out Lily Garza who held opponents scoreless for 216:26 minutes in 2014.
THE LAST WORD... It was not our best performance of the season. We did not compete as a team today. We need to focus on bouncing back for Sunday's game at Pomona.
–Erin Reinke, Women's Soccer Head Coach
