TURLOCK, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay win streak ended at four matches after Stanislaus State earned a 25–21, 25–23, 25–21 win over the Otters Friday night in Fitzpatrick Arena. CSUMB fell to 5–3 with the loss while Stanislaus improved to 4–5. It was the CCAA opener for both squads.
Both teams struggled to kill the ball, with Stanislaus hitting .111 and CSUMB hitting .108 for the evening. But the Warriors were able to forge early leads in each set then hang on three times to earn the win.
Anela Visesio (Seaside HS) led CSUMB with 12 kills while sophomore middle blocker
Chandler McKean (Visalia/Redwood HS) chipped in a match–high five blocks.
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN… A Taylor Massengale kill ended a 7–0 CSUMB run that had pulled the Otters back to within 17–14 in the third set. The Otters never got closer over the balance of the match.

BUILDING BLOCKS… The Otters out–blocked Stanislaus 8–5 for the match. They have out–blocked their opponents in all eight matches this season and in 11 of 12 matches dating to last season.
